Updated...finally...

Yes, it has been TOOO long since I've updated my blog!!! So much has been going on, that I haven't updated much...and since I'm always playing on Facebook, most of my ramblings get put on there..and my blog gets neglected.

Let's see what has been going on....

In January 2009 - I left my job with Brimont Construciton in Overton, NV to come back to work with the State of Utah in St George. Although the Drive has been a challenge again, I am really glad to be back with the State....it felt like "Coming Home". However, I do miss the short commute of working in the Valley. Justin has really stepped up to the challege of being the one to get Bodie up and off to the sitters in the mornings. Those two have developed a much closer bond...

February - Although we started back in January with competing in Gymkahana's, just have a couple fun pics from the Gymkhana on Valentines Day...Yes...I tortured my poor horse with paint, glitter and feather boas...but at least we had a blast!

!
March found us starting to be outside more, the weather was startng to get better and spring fever had set in. Bodie & I got to meet one of the Moms from our Online Baby Group (We all were pregnant together & have kids the same age). Tina had come in to Vegas for the weekend, and we met her and her husband for lunch and went to the Wax Museum! It was SO exciting to meet her in person after over 2 years of talking in our Online group

April was the Clark County Fair & Rodeo down here...this year, I wasnt able to participate in the Flag Drill Team, but enjoyed going to the fair and getting to walk around the booths. Bodie had a great time on the little Train they had there and spending time with his cousin Kamie - he sure does love his cousin!

Now to May...still competing in all of the gymkhanas, swimming and playing with the horses... the usual. Bodie is growing like a weed and has turned into such a fun little boy. He is so smart...he can count to 30, count to 10 in Spanish, knows his alphabet, and can even recite the pledge of allegiance by himself. Over memorial weekend, we went camping with Justin's cousins (on his Dad's side). We had a great time with all - and got to spend alot of time hanging with cousins we dont usually get to see alot. Bodie had a great time with his 2nd cousin, Mason. Mason's mom is an aspiring photographer, and got some GREAT shots of Bodie. Thank you Jenny!!!

So....that's a quick update in a Nutshell.....

What is that SMELL?

It's the cutest little "stinker" around!!! Here's some pics from Bodie's Halloween Adventures!! He had a blast going "Trunk-or-Treating"!

He didnt enjoy carving his pumpkin all that much - he didn't want Mommy drawing the face and then he wanted NOTHING to do with the "guts"....so it was up to Mommy to finish. He loved the finished product though!!

Happy Halloween!!

Don't Cry For The Horses
Don't cry for the horses
That life has set free
A million white horses
Forever to be

Don't cry for the horses
Now in God's hands
As they dance and they prance
To a heavenly band

They were ours as a gift
But never to keep
As they close their eyes
Forever to sleep

Their spirits unbound
On silver wings they fly
A million white horses
Against the blue sky

Look up into heaven
You'll see them above
The horses we lost
The horses we loved

Manes and tails flowing
They Gallop through time
They were never yours
They were never mine

Don't cry for the horses
They will be back someday
When our time has come
They will show us the way

On silver wings they will lift us
To the warmth of the sun
When our life is over
And eternity has begun

We will jump the sun
And dance over the moon
A Ballet of horses and riders
on the winds
to a heavenly tune

Do you hear that soft nicker
Close to your ear?
Don't cry for the horses
Love the ones that are here

Don't cry for the horses
Lift up your sad eyes
Can't you see them
As they fly by?

A million white horses
Free from hunger and pain
Their spirits set free
Until we ride again

Bodie's Birthday & Trip to Wyoming

I'm finally getting around to posting about Bodie's Birthday Weekend

We had a crazy road trip weekend over Labor Day weekend for Bodie's birthday. 1166 miles and 5 states in one day - here are the pics!!

We started our trip Friday Evening. We drove to my Parent's house in Midway, Utah - got there about midnight. Bodie did not sleep one wink on the 6 hour drive....UGH! I was sooo frazzled by the end of that drive! There was a little festival in Midway that weekend, so we went to the Parade on Saturday morning. My Dad was driving a 1950 something tractor in the parade, so we went and cheered at him!! Bodie was so excited to see Grandpa in the parade on the tractor!! (the camera died during parade, but I got pics later of the tractor . We spent the rest of the morning at the festival and shopped our butts off. Saturday evening, we had Bodie's birthday party with all of his cousins and my family. We also did the surprise part of the party for my Dad as well (who just turned 78). Bodie's favorite part of the party was the Bubble machine and the tractor on his cake.

The pics didnt turn out to good of the cake presentations and gift opening - it was too dark outside.

We got up early Sunday morning and drove to Afton, Wyoming to see Justin's Sister and her family. It rained most of the day sunday, and MOnday morning, we woke up to HUMONGOUS snowflakes!! Bodie had so much fun watching the snow fall but none of it stuck long enough to play in. Monday evening, we hung out in their backyard with a campfire and enjoyed the Cool weather. It was a big change - it was 110 degrees when we left home and in the 30's when we were in Wyoming!!!

We hit the road to come home on Tuesday morning - was a 9 hour drive home. I was soooo proud of Bodie though..he was such a good traveler!! We stopped every about 3 hours so that he could get out and stretch and go potty. He stayed dry the ENTIRE trip home and even pooped in the potty at the 2nd stop! We havent been "actively" PT'ing until after this trip, but I think he's ready!!!

Anyway...here is our pics!!!
First slideshow is the Birthday party

Slideshow from up in Afton, Wyoming at Aunt Kallie's

(for those of you wondering which states we drove through.....coming home we were in Wyoming, Idaho, Utah, Arizona & Finally, Nevada.) We even taught Bodie the names as we were going through. He says WYOMING so cute!!
